A total of about 3.3 million people watched the press conference of outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte and outgoing Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge via NPO1, RTL4 and SBS6.
During the press moment, the two officially announced relaxation of the corona measures.
Rutte and De Jonge announced that from September 25, the one and a half meter rule will be abolished, that a corona ticket will be mandatory in the catering industry, the art and culture sector and sports competitions and that multi-day events will be allowed again.
A large part of the relaxation had already been leaked in the days leading up to the press conference.
The 3.3 million viewers mainly watched the press conference from NPO1 (1.89 million viewers) and RTL4 (1.1 million viewers).
The average number of viewers is a lot lower than in the peak in 2020, when an average of 7 million people watched.
Even fewer people watched the previous press conference: in August, 2.6 million turned on television for the words of Rutte and De Jonge.
