The patient's mother told "Emirates Today" the story of her son (Ahmed) with the disease, saying that her son (Ahmed) suffers from pulmonary fibrosis since birth, because it is a genetic disease in the family, explaining that she had a daughter older than (Ahmed) and she died of this disease.

She added that the disease caused (Ahmed) to suffer from cirrhosis of the pancreas, and this matter caused him kidney problems, pointing out that (Ahmed) was permanently undergoing treatment under the exemption program, and he had a health card, but three years ago he was not covered by the exemption, especially In the medical supplies and therapeutic food he needed, which caused him health problems and weight loss, until one of the charitable societies covered the costs of treatment, over the past period, then stopped supporting, and currently the family is unable to manage the treatment expenses for him, and indicated that The cost of the monthly treatment is 1636 dirhams, and he needs this treatment for life. What he needs is a special kind of milk, the cost of which is high and exceeds her husband's modest financial capabilities.

The mother stated that her husband is the sole breadwinner for the family, consisting of three children, and he works in a private agency with a salary of 5000 dirhams, of which 1666 dirhams go per month for the rent of the house, and the rest goes to pay the tuition fees for their children and life expenses and requirements.

She pointed out that the husband is also unable to pay the amount of 7,700 dirhams in school arrears for two of their children, and she does not know how to arrange the amount of (Ahmed) treatment to save his life, stressing that his life and health are linked to this medicine and treatment, and the family is unable to manage the costs of treatment, and cannot bear to see his health deteriorate. Day after day she is folded.

She added that she knocked on all doors, and borrowed from family and neighbors to buy the necessary medicines, in order to preserve his life in light of his critical health condition, appealing to good people and people of compassionate hearts to help her manage the costs of her son's treatment to save his life.

Ahmed's sister died of the same genetic disease.
