The reduction of the speed of circulation to 30 km / h on the whole of the city of Lyon was announced for 2022. It will be carried out next spring, as revealed this midday Grégory Doucet, the mayor of the city guest on the France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes plateau.

"Almost all roads will be at 30 km / h except certain traffic axes, which will remain at 50", announced the elected ecologist without further details.

The objective: "to appease the city" and "to reduce the accidentology".

A decision that is not isolated.

"In the big European capitals, Brussels, in Spain and in the Netherlands, they have already passed in town 30. We see 40% less road accidents in town", argues Grégory Doucet.
