Typhoon 'Chantu', which has traveled north to Shanghai, China, is expected to remain near Shanghai until tomorrow (15th), then turn east about the day after tomorrow and gradually approach the southern seas.



According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Typhoon Chantu will pass through the waters of about 100 km southwest of Jeju Island at around 3 a.m. on Friday, 17th, and will continue to pass through the South Sea and exit into the Korea Strait about 60 kilometers southeast of Busan by 3 p.m. on the 17th. predicted.



As the typhoon moves northward, it will rain heavily with strong winds centered on Jeju Island until tomorrow, and strong winds and heavy rain will also fall in the southern regions on Thursday and Friday, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted.



First of all, the estimated precipitation until tomorrow is 100 to 300 mm or more in Jeju Island, 20 to 120 mm or more in Jeonnam and South Gyeongsang coasts, and 10 to 40 mm in Gyeongnam and southern Jeollabuk-do and southern Gyeongsangbuk-do.
