Currently, Typhoon Chantu is still maintaining a strong force and is located in the sea near Shanghai, China. It is blocked by high pressure above the typhoon and the movement speed gradually decreases, so I will stay here until tomorrow (15th), and again from the day after day. It is expected to turn sharply and increase speed again and pass through the southern seas of the Korean Peninsula by Friday.
Due to the indirect effect of the typhoon, it is currently raining in Jeju and the southern coastal areas.
Heavy rain warnings have been issued in most areas of Jeju, and today, along with very strong rains of 50 to 70 mm per hour in Jeju area, heavy rains of 300 mm or more are forecast until tomorrow.
Heavy rain of 120mm or more will fall in the southern coast of Jeollanam-do, and it will rain occasionally in other southern regions.
Due to the rotational force of the typhoon, typhoons and storm warnings have been issued for Jeju, the South Sea, and the far west sea, and strong wind warnings have been issued for Jeju and Jeollanam-do islands. You must be very careful not to cause any damage.
The sky in the central region will be mostly clear, and it will feel a bit hot during the day.
