The C8 channel and the producer and host Thierry Ardisson were on trial since the sudden end of the program "Salut les Terriens" in 2019. After winning a first legal battle, Thierry Ardisson appealed, arguing that the compensation granted by the commercial court were insufficient.

It's a legal victory for the man in black.

The producer and host Thierry Ardisson won on appeal the lawsuit he had brought against C8, following the stopping of his program

Salut les Terriens

in 2019. The host then refused to continue producing his talk show according to the conditions requested by the chain: to do it for half the price.

C8 then deleted the show in May 2019. That is a month and a half before the end of the season.

What had pushed Ardisson to continue the channel of the Canal group.

Several million euros in compensation

On this file, Thierry Ardisson had won a first legal battle in January 2020. But the host and producer had found the compensation of around 800,000 euros granted by the commercial court insufficient.

His appeal trial proved him right.

His production company will finally touch 3.8 million for "sudden termination of commercial relations".

A sum to which is added approximately 2.7 million euros for Teleparis, the service provider which ensured the filming of the show.

A company in which Thierry Ardisson holds half of the shares.

C8 will receive 50,000 euros for "violation of the confidentiality clause".
