The election of the seventh Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region initially produces 26 directly and indirectly elected members

  Xinhua News Agency, Macau, September 13 (Reporters Liu Gang and Li Hanfang) The preliminary voting statistics for the election of the 7th Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region were announced in the early morning of the 13th. A total of 26 directly and indirectly elected members were initially elected.

  The 14 members elected to the directly elected seats are: Shi Jialun, Li Jingyi, Gao Tianci, Zheng Anting, Liang Hongxi, Huang Kitchen, Song Biqi, Liang Sunxu, Xie Shihong, Lin Yutao, Luo Caiyan, Yan Yiheng, Ma Yaofeng, and Li Liangwang.

  The 12 members elected to the indirect seats are: Gao Kaixian, Cui Shiping, Ye Zhaojia, and Wang Shimin from the business and financial sectors; Lin Lunwei and Li Zhenyu from the labor sector; Cui Shichang, Huang Xianhui, and Chen Yili from the professional sector; He Runsheng from the social service and education sectors; Chen Zewu and Liang Anqi in the sports world.

  The seven appointed members will be appointed by the Chief Executive of the Special Administrative Region within 15 days after receiving the general accounting results of the Legislative Council elections.

  The election of the Seventh Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region began at 9 o'clock on the 12th and ended at 21 o'clock that day.

  The election law of the Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region stipulates that the total number of members of the seventh legislative assembly of the Macao Special Administrative Region is 33, of which 14 are directly elected members, 12 are indirectly elected members, and 7 are appointed by the Chief Executive.

The term of office of the seventh legislative council of the SAR will begin in October 2021, with a term of four years.
