Famous webtoon writer Joo Ho-min apologized for the copyright controversy.

Joo Ho-min posted a long post on his SNS on the 12th, explaining the reason why images that were used without permission were included in the exhibits and expressed his apology.

Homin Joo held the exhibition 'Homin and Jaehwan' at the Seoul Museum of Art from May 18 to August 1.

The exhibition was a two-person exhibition of Joo Ho-min and his father, Joo Jae-hwan.

However, one of Homin Joo's works, 'What Are You Doing on the Stairs,' was embroiled in copyright controversy.

The pattern with the watermark on the image of the military uniform in the work was used as it is.

Since the watermark was put in by the original author to prevent unauthorized copying, it was caught up in suspicion that Joo Ho-min illegally downloaded the image.

Regarding this, Joo Ho-min said, "I was originally thinking of using the old camouflage pattern in my work 'Jam', but as the times have changed, I thought I should put it in a digital pattern, so I searched for the camouflage pattern and downloaded it and used it. Watermark the image used. I didn't know it was embedded," he admitted frankly.

He continued, "After the exhibition started, the audience informed me, so I bought it late." "There were two mistakes. I used it without checking it, so I had to display the 7-meter painting in that state. I'm sorry. I will check it well in the future. "He admitted his mistake and apologized.

He also said, "I searched for images used in this place with 'search word + free image' on Google, and the image was found and saved by right-clicking without thinking. "No one wants to exhibit a large-scale painting with a watermark in it for two months at the City Museum of Art for two months," he said. He told the truth that was only there.

The exhibition is already over. Joo Ho-min explained, "The exhibition started on May 18, and the image was purchased on May 25, when a report was received. The image usage fee is 13,200 won," he explained. "The work was destroyed after the exhibition," he said.
