He is one of the 79 prisoners released Tuesday evening, September 7, after the military coup that overthrew Alpha Condé just a week ago.

Foniké Menguè, whose real name is Oumar Sylla, is one of the leaders of the FNDC, the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution which mobilized against a third term of Alpha Condé.

Arrested twice, he spent a total of 16 months in Conakry central prison.
