Recently, the "5G Caiyun No. 1" unmanned airship jointly developed by China Mobile Yunnan Company, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Yunnan Innovation Research Institute and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. successfully completed all test tasks in Yuanmou, Chuxiong.

"5G Caiyun No. 1" is an all-white "airship" with a 5G base station, high-definition camera and power system suspended in its pod. Below is the "airship" mobile support vehicle, which escorts the "airship" in real time.

Yunnan Province is located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with diverse and complex topography. Earthquakes, mudslides, landslides, floods and other disasters frequently occur. In some places, the mountains are high and the roads are steep, making it difficult to ensure emergency communications.

The air-ground integrated 5G emergency communication guarantees that the unmanned helium airship relies on filling helium to be in the air, can provide up to 15 days or more in the air, the load is more than 200kg, and the wind resistance can be as high as 8.

Through China Mobile's emergency communication coverage model algorithm, 5G communication innovation technology, and highly integrated optical and electrical hybrid cables, the airship can provide high-speed signals above 10Gbps and 2G, 4G, 5G and other multi-standard signals to achieve large-area communication coverage.

These features effectively solve the pain points of traditional emergency support methods such as slow response, small coverage, and slow data return.
