Eva Longoria has decided to leave Time's Up, as have several members of the association's management, including producer Shonda Rhimes and actress Jurnee Smollett.

A departure that will take effect at the beginning of next month, as specified in a statement posted on the organization's website.

A few weeks which will allow Monifa Bandele, interim director, to prepare for the transition while Time's Up is going through a major crisis.

Last month, Time's Up director Tina Tchen and board member Roberta Kaplan resigned after revelations about their help to ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, to deal with the sex scandal he is the subject of.

A necessary change

Earlier this year, several women accused the politician of sexual harassment, leading to his resignation.

It is therefore a real earthquake that affects the association founded in 2018 to help women victims of this type of abuse.

But the organization says it is ready to move forward.

“We see the ongoing crisis within Time's Up as an important opportunity for growth and change.

Time's Up belongs to all women.

Her mission must continue - until we live in a world in which no woman will ever have to say #timesup again, ”the statement added.
