After a number of festival singers, such as Omar Kamal and Hama Beka, decided to revive some concerts, and rumors spread that the Syndicate would cancel the decision to ban singing through concerts for any singer through a voice recorder or flash playback method, after the escalation of the crisis of Hassan Shakoush and Reda Al-Bahrawi, and their verbal exchange. Through the concerts, the Syndicate of Musical Professions issued, yesterday, a press statement confirming that there is no truth to what was reported about the postponement of its recent decisions, and stressed that it is continuing to implement all decisions that are in the interest of the members of its general assembly.

The Syndicate’s statement came as follows: “The Syndicate of Musical Professions calls upon all musicians and singers, members of the General Assembly, not to circulate incorrect news, intentionally or unintentionally, which raises the lack of clarity for some and the conflict of information with reality.”

The captain of the musicians, artist Hani Shaker, confirmed that the union is firm in its decisions taken for reform, and the measures it will take in this field, stressing the implementation of the decision to ban flash singing starting on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Artist Hani Shaker added that the Syndicate Council will not tolerate this, calling for the need to extract information from its source, and not to transmit incorrect information.

The Syndicate of Musical Professions issued new decisions during the last period regarding singers reviving their concerts, stressing that it is required to perform and sing in the presence of a band of at least eight musicians, and it is forbidden to sing on any flash or audio recorder.

On the other hand, an official source in the Syndicate revealed that Hassan Shakoush had recently filed a grievance over the decision to ban him from singing and withdraw his licenses.

It is scheduled to consider his grievance in the first session of the Syndicate Council, until it is decided on, and Reda Al-Bahrawi has not submitted any grievance so far, like Shakush, and the legal advisor to the Musical Professions Syndicate made it clear that the singer is not allowed to sing on stage using the flash, and this decision applies to any artist. He sings in the Arab Republic of Egypt or lives there while holding another nationality.

He added that whoever violates this decision will expose himself to being prevented from singing by a decision of the Syndicate of Musical Professions.

The decision was met with a state of happiness among many singers, who sing genuinely on stage without the use of a voice recorder or flash, including the singer Mahmoud Al-Osaili, who commented on the decision on his personal account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “The decision to prevent singing using the flash is a decision. It is very important for the Syndicate of Musical Professions, and I hope that it is implemented firmly, because this will make a very difference in competition and public taste and will bring back many musicians again.”
