Twenty years ago, this Saturday, September 11, the Manhattan Twin Towers and building number 7 nearby collapsed, following an attack perpetrated by al-Qaeda terrorists.

Each year, the commemorations of the event rekindle the pain of the families of the victims and rekindle the doubts - among some - about the official speech about the event.

Doubts revolve around how the World Trade Center buildings collapsed on September 11, 2001 in New York. Today, there is a whole literature on the internet to deny the fact that the towers collapsed under the effect of the crash of the two planes, or to deny the very existence of the commandos who took control of the aircraft. The thesis conveyed by the skeptics of 9/11 places full responsibility for the events on the American authorities. The collapse of the buildings would have been caused by explosives. Videos circulate with comments pointing to "

obvious

" which is not, no tangible proof comes to support the thesis of a "

controlled demolition.

Using explosives that were intentionally placed in the towers.

In two decades, no material analysis has corroborated these claims, despite the possibilities offered by scientific progress.

These same advances which still make it possible today to identify the remains of victims after twenty years.

Systematic denial

The authors of these accusations demand the reopening of an investigation -

Reopen 9/11

 - because they refute the conclusions of the investigations carried out so far. In particular concerning the third building - building n ° 7 - which collapsed several hours after the collapse of the twin towers. The investigation revealed a series of fires caused by the impact of the fall of huge blocks that fell on this building from the towers. But the conspirators refuse these explanations. Likewise, they deny the claims of the attacks by al-Qaeda, despite the records which attest to this.

Political history is peppered with conspiracies, but in general they do not stand the test of time.

In fact, the two decades that have passed still do not provide any element of such a nature as to accredit the theses developed by the conspirators.

The upcoming declassification of FBI documents could undermine some of their arguments.

There may have been secrets and cover-ups of facts exposing certain personalities, highlighting culpable negligence, but the involvement of Osama bin Laden and his commandos is factual reality.

This does not prevent us from wondering about the reasons for their passage to the act.

Conspiracy, a business

The denial of the role played by members of al-Qaeda goes well beyond certain legitimate questions. However, this extreme scenario continues to seduce thousands of people in the United States and around the world, overwhelmed by internet videos that recycle as much as they want the spectacular images of the attacks, documents sometimes paid for. Books are for sale on sites disputing the reality of the facts, books, CDs and T-shirts. These eye-catching sites also profit from advertising revenue. Some present the appearance of elaborate technical works, supposed to reveal what is hidden from us. Others go very far in the conspiracy designating the globalist elite, denouncing a Judeo-Masonic plot, joining the thesis of a Covid-19 pandemic planned and fabricated by the same elites to enslave the world for their benefit.

Several associations have been formed, such as the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth association, which claims to bring together thousands of experts.

But verification made, very few express themselves on their field of competence, few are able to interpret the structural calculations underlying the official thesis.

The specialized site

Chroniques d'Architecture

took an interest in the pedigree of some French members of the association, some of whom do not even appear in the registers of the Order of Architects.

The same site also establishes the very improbable nature of a “

controlled demolition

”, which would have required months and months of calculations and work to arrive at the result that we know.

From delirium to legitimate questioning

Without falling into conspiratorial delirium, certain questions persist, fueled by state lies produced by an administration which then engages in the "

war against terrorism".

". The links - not proven - between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda and the affair of the weapons of mass destruction which Saddam no longer had at the time, are part of the system put in place to justify entering the war in Iraq. Contrary to conspiratorial theses, these pretexts having been used to start the war have indeed been denounced and brought to light, they have nonetheless discredited the official word. Hence the questions of very prominent American personalities, such as director Spike Lee, who - in a first version of his documentary on New York corrected in extremis before its release at the end of August - gave pride of place to conspiracy theories. He said in an interview with the

New York Times

to ask questions

On what really happened on 9/11.

Following criticism after the press screening of the

NYC Epicenters 9 / 11-2021

docu-series

, the director retouched the half-hour in which members of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth ( AE911), including Richard Gage.

But the difference between Spike Lee and the die-hard conspirators is that the latter no longer ask questions, convinced they have the truth.

They find themselves within the Truthers movement, followers of an “

alternative truth

” shared by those who also deny the reality of tragedies such as the shooting that took place at the Sandy Hook school, or the reality of Covid-19 pandemic.
