Referring a doctor to the “dog video” incident for investigation and the Egyptian Medical Syndicate: No official complaint
The President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, confirmed that the university decided to refer the incident of the video circulating on social media platforms regarding the doctor and the dog to the immediate investigation, adding that the parties to the incident will appear before the university's investigation authorities tomorrow, Saturday.
The President of Ain Shams University explained, according to the newspaper, Al-Watan, that the incident did not happen in the university's hospitals, and that it took place in a private hospital, noting that the doctor in the video works in the orthopedic department of Ain Shams University hospitals.
And social networking sites circulated a video clip showing two people, in which the doctor asks the nurse to apologize to his dog for mocking him.
Ain Shams University's media center denied that the incident happened inside the university's hospitals, stressing that it happened inside a private hospital.
The university stated, in a press statement a while ago, that it and its hospitals assure full respect for all its employees and those who frequent it.
Member of the House of Representatives, Representative Muhammad Abdullah Zain Al-Din, announced his request to open an urgent investigation into the incident, describing it as a disgrace to the medical profession, calling for the accountability of those responsible for this incident and all that helped him.
While Dr. Osama Abdel Hai, Secretary-General of the Medical Syndicate, said that the Syndicate has not received any official complaint about the video, and that the doctor is not in his job or has the right to punish the nurse or any person inside the medical work facility.
