Kim Yeon-kyung, the protagonist and captain of the women's volleyball quarterfinals of the Tokyo Olympics, erupted after the Olympics.

Kim Yeon-kyung politely declined SBS's request for an interview and said that they would make time when the KOVO Cup tournament, which ran until the end of August, was completed.

An interview was scheduled in September, and me and the SBS Video Mug team focused on preparing for Kim Yeon-kyung's interview.

And on the 6th, at a hotel in Seoul, I asked him about his current situation, his heart, and the story behind the Olympics.

Q. It's been about a month since the Olympics ended, and I'm curious about how you've been.

“I think a lot of people were worried because they were quiet, but actually, after the Olympics, I took a break. (Kim Yeon-kyung was the first to travel with her family) After taking a break, I shot a lot of commercials, I shot one broadcast now, and now I’m back again. I'm preparing. Of course, I'm also exercising from time to time."

Q. We talked about commercials, but I watched a shooting game commercial making video.

"Actually, I'm not much of a gamer. I'm a bit tired of it, but the first time I played a game where I filmed an advertisement, it was so much fun. It was addictive. This game has been around for a long time. It's still ranked second in the game ranking. It was also strange to see my character appear in 'Bread Grenade!' I was really good at throwing grenades while I was doing it. It was such a fun experience.”

Q. You also filmed the long-awaited commercial for bread.

"Actually, I've been waiting for the commercial for bread a lot. Because everyone thinks of me now as 'Bread Unnie' when they think of me. This time, the opportunity came and I was filmed for the commercial, and it feels so good. I liked it because it seemed to fit my image so well. If you're going to eat bread or bread in the future, wouldn't it be better if you use the advertiser's products. Oh! It also includes stickers. It would be nice to have fun collecting stickers as well."

Kim Yeon-kyung emphasized the company name and product name throughout the interview. It was so active that the advertisers were very happy to hear it. That's why I thought 'advertisers prefer it'. The shooting game was shot in Nexon's 'Sudden Attack', and the bread commercial was shot in Paris Baguette.

Q. I watched the trailer for 'Living Alone'. I know that SBS Running Man and MBC Radio Star are also scheduled to appear. However, I heard that he took 'Karma' to have all the women's volleyball team appear.

"As for how this happened, I was actually only going to appear on one variety show. I was only planning to go on the 'I Live Alone' program. I didn't want to do much. I asked if I could do it as a 'volleyball special', and I got a reply that it was possible. So I decided to go to both places. And I wanted all the players I worked hard with to go out, so I split the 12 players in half. Players who appear on TV show will not be able to appear on Radio Star. It is not a problem whether they play or not, but I thought that it would be good for everyone to get attention. Oh, of course, I go to both programs. Ha ha ha."

Q. Running Man is not the first time. Who do you want to rip off your name tag? If you were to play volleyball, I wonder what kind of superpower you would like to have.

"I think it's better to show our players a little bit that 'entertainment is like this' rather than plucking out. If I can have superpowers, I want to try being ambidextrous. And the ability to stay in the air for a long time just by jumping. Just doing this with both hands while crossing the net. (Kim Yeon-kyung was really excited about her superpowers.)"

Q Although he is having such a busy rest period, I have seen him exercise in his spare time.

“I always incorporate exercise into my schedule. When I shoot a commercial one day, I exercise the next day and build my body by doing that consistently. Right now, I’m focusing on building my body without training balls or skills. 9 By the middle of the month, I think I will be doing interval training or training to improve my condition little by little. After that, I plan to start training little by little.”

Q. The reason you train is because you have to join the Chinese league soon. Although SBS reported exclusively, I was surprised that they chose the Shanghai team. It's a comeback after 3 years, are there any players you played with at the time?

"Yes, there are still a few left. There are a few members who played at the time. Also, the coach is the same. Before the manager signed the contract, he contacted me and said, 'Let's try again. I really want to come.' I've been taking it for about two months, but I thought I had a really good advantage. I thought it would be okay if I recover after a short run, so I think I decided to advance to China."

Q. I know you signed a one-year contract with Shanghai, but if the Chinese league ends early, what will happen after that?

"I don't know yet. Since the Chinese league ends early, the European winter market is actually open. If I have an idea after the Chinese league is over, I think I can go to the European winter market and play. .Or I can just take a break, I don't know what will happen, but I think I'll have to think about it after the Chinese league is over."

Q. Do you speak Chinese well?

"I can't. The only thing I can do is ask for a cut in Chinese. I do this a little bit. (Laughs)"

Q. Last season, playing in Korea gave fans a lot of enjoyment, but I wonder if he's not considering returning to Korea.

"I don't know yet. However, the possibility is left open because there is no such thing as 'not at all' to return to Korea."

It goes on to part 2.
