• The autonomous union of professional firefighters and administrative and technical staff (SPP-PATS) 06 called for action on Thursday and Friday "so that all firefighters can be present".

  • They meet against compulsory vaccination, dysfunctions with Samu 06 and the lack of staff.

  • They would like better communication so as not to feel "slave" to society.

They were gathered this Thursday morning in front of the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes, in Nice. These firefighters, volunteers and professionals, gathered to demonstrate for several reasons "linked to the health crisis and the state of emergency", indicates André Goretti, departmental president of the autonomous union of professional firefighters and administrative staff and techniques (SPP-PATS) at the initiative of the mobilization. More than 250 people had responded, according to him.

“It's a set,” he begins.

First, a very high number of requests this summer but with few staff.

Then, the vaccination obligation which will induce a suspension of salary, then a dismissal for non-compliance with the obligation.

We do not yet know how many of our colleagues do not prefer to be vaccinated, which means, a further weakening in our service.

The union has already offered to support unvaccinated firefighters to formulate individual litigation appeals.

"We must respect ourselves"

To these claims is added a "malfunction with the Samu 06".

André Goretti explains: “The problem of vaccination is national.

But at the local level, we wonder why the Samu is no longer able to answer our calls?

The lack of dialogue leads to a lot of misunderstanding.

We are neither slaves of Samu nor of society.

We must respect us!

"

On Friday, the same number of firefighters is expected on Place Masséna in Nice from 2:30 p.m.

Since August 9, a general and indefinite strike notice has been filed by the autonomous federation SPP-PATS.
