The reporter learned on the 9th that the People’s Procuratorate of Xianju County, Zhejiang Province recently prosecuted Wu Moumou for drug smuggling.

  At the end of August 2020, Wu XX contacted a Chinese Canadian through social software, bought marijuana leaves from him, and transferred 1,500 yuan worth of bitcoin to the other's account through Huobi.com.

  On September 15, 2020, the other party disguised a packet of hemp leaves as tea and mailed it from Canada to Wu's residence through the Canadian Post Office.

The package was later seized by China’s Taizhou Customs, and the net weight of the package was 28.775 grams.

  After testing, the contents of the package were found to contain tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol, and cannabidiol.

  The procuratorate found that Wu had violated the national drug control regulations by buying a small amount of marijuana leaves from abroad to smuggle into the country and evading customs supervision. His behavior violated the first and fourth paragraphs of Article 347 of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China. According to the provisions of the paragraph, the facts of the crime are clear, and the evidence is reliable and sufficient. The criminal responsibility should be investigated for the crime of drug smuggling.
