The various stages of the A13 site, decided in 2015, continue to follow one another.

From this Wednesday, two viaducts located in Guerville (Yvelines), near Mantes-la-Jolie, will be renovated, causing disruptions for the next two years on the Paris - Normandy traffic axis.

Each of these viaducts, over 60 years old, will thus, in turn, be closed, reports

While one is under construction, the other's emergency lane will be open to traffic in order to limit the impact on traffic.

Before the start of the works, a third viaduct was also built for the same purpose.

The speed on this section will increase from 110 km / h to 90 km / h.

Checks could be carried out using site radars.

Traffic jams to be expected

In total, 53,000 cars circulate every day from Île-de-France to Normandy by this route.

Significant traffic jams could therefore take place during hours of strong influence, especially on Friday evenings, when some Ile-de-France residents return to Normandy.

In addition, studies have shown that it is often not more advantageous to go through the departmental roads in the sector during peak hours, since they are also quickly saturated.

If the schedule is respected, which is currently the case, the end of the work is scheduled for fall 2023.
