On September 8, on the occasion of the 37th Teacher's Day, a total of 46 families in Liuzhou City, Guangxi who have taught for more than three generations were recognized as the 2021 "Dragon City Educational Family".
One of them is Shi Yuhui's family who has been teaching and educating people for three generations and is dedicated to education without asking for any rewards.
"My father has been teaching in Dongzhai all his life, sticking to the front line of the rural classroom, focusing on students." Shi Yuhui, who taught at a rural elementary school in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, Dong Township, Guangxi for 39 years, recalled his dead father and said, "In my In memory, he is a good father who is hardworking, frugal, warm and kind."

In August 1961, after Shi Yuhui's father Shi Dacheng graduated from Guilin Normal School for Nationalities, he was assigned to teach at Chengyang Primary School in Linxi Town, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, about 40 kilometers away from his home.
Due to conditions at the time, Shi Dacheng could only travel to and from school and home on foot.
"School is over every Saturday afternoon, and my father climbs over the mountains and walks four or five hours back home." Shi Yuhui introduced that his father rushed to school at three or four o'clock in the morning on Monday. "A pair of precious leather shoes will go bad in less than a month. My father was reluctant to throw it away, and then I went to high school and patched it up for me."
In Shi Yuhui's impression, his father was still at work after returning home.
Shi Dacheng carried a cloth bag every time he went home. When he was a child, Shi Yuhui thought that there would be sugar in it.
"Every time I woke up in the middle of the night, I could see my father writing lesson plans and correcting homework under a kerosene lamp. Sometimes when he was tired, he would use the erhu to relieve his fatigue."
A few years later, Shi Da was transferred home to teach in Bajiang Town, Sanjiang.
"I'm close to home, my father is busy in farming during the summer vacation, and the family is looking forward to his coming home to help." Shi Yuhui said, but his father spent most of his time studying and meeting outside, and his mother took the lead in farm work.
When Shi Yuhui was confused about his future, Shi Dacheng suggested that he be a teacher.
In Shi Dacheng's view, it is a very fulfilling thing to be able to teach what he has learned to one class after another.
Under Shi Dacheng's education and influence, Shi Yuhui also became a rural teacher in December 1982.
During his 39 years of education, he has taught in many rural teaching sites in Bajiang Town.
"Educating students is primarily to encourage students and stimulate their self-confidence." Shi Yuhui said that teachers' encouragement is sunshine, air and water, which are indispensable nutrients for students' growth.
In the past, there was a student Xie Yunshun with a calm personality and an intermediate study in the class.
Once some soy milk was sprinkled in the corridor, many students walked around. Xie Yunshun ran back to the classroom to clean up the soy milk after seeing it.
After seeing this scene by Shi Yuhui, he immediately praised him in his class for paying attention to public health and being considerate of others.
In addition, Xie Yunshun was serious about his duty, regardless of how much he was doing, and he was always enthusiastic about helping others. Shi Yuhui also gave encouragement in time.
"Slowly Xie Yunshun was very serious in class and homework, and his academic performance was greatly improved. At the end of the semester, he was rated as a top three student." Shi Yuhui said that he was inspired by this matter: each child has a different personality and is in the group. Maybe not outstanding, but they all need positive encouragement from the teacher.
Shi Yuhui's lover and daughter-in-law are also teachers. After Shi Yuhui's daughter graduated from university in 2014, she became a middle school teacher, adding fresh blood to this "family of education".
After attending the award ceremony, Shi Yuhui took a three-and-a-half-hour car ride back to the Meidi teaching site of Sanjiang Bajiang Town Central Primary School.
"42 students are waiting for me to go back to class. There are only three teachers in the school. I can't leave for too long." Shi Yuhui said that his greatest wish is to hope that the children will study hard, get out of the mountains, and make contributions to the construction of their hometown after they finish their studies.
