We have set up an organization supported by lawyers and scholars about Judge Impeachment Court of Sendai High Court, who is being charged by the Impeachment Court for posting on SNS.

The group claims that "it is clearly overkill to prosecute the act of expression and disqualify it as a legal profession."

Judge Impeachment Court Kiichi Okaguchi (55) of the Sendai High Court heard in June whether to dismiss the judge for repeatedly posting inappropriate posts on SNS regarding the bereaved family of the murder of a high school girl. He was accused by the Impeachment Court and is currently suspended from his duties.

Regarding this, lawyers and scholars set up an organization to support Judge Okaguchi and held a press conference on the 8th.

There has never been a case in which a judge was prosecuted over the transmission of SNS, and it is said that it suppresses the judge's act of expression.

Kei Noma, a lawyer representing Judge Okaguchi, said, "It is clearly overkill to try to disqualify a legal profession by acting as a non-criminal act. I will leave a stigma in. "

According to the organization, there are currently about 1,700 people who support it, including legal scholars and former court officials.

The Impeachment Court is made up of members of the Diet and members of the Diet, and Judge Okaguchi's trial schedule has not yet been set.
