The next feature film by Taylor Hackford (director of
Ray
) promises to renew the genre of film noir.

, he sends Morgan Freeman and Danny DeVito to investigate two murders that took place in an upscale retirement community.
At the head of the residence, nothing less than Al Pacino and Helen Mirren.
Not only does the genre appeal to the Oscar-winning director, but setting the plot in a senior citizen's residence makes it a film anchored in the present.
“These high-end retirement homes are proliferating across the United States as the baby boom generation approaches retirement age.
There is a lot of money and people want to live in a beautiful environment.
That's what you see on the brochure, but what Tom Gray (the screenwriter) did with it reveals what's under the varnish, ”Taylor Hackford told Deadline.
The right boost
The ingredients are in any case gathered to make an expected film: the four main actors and the director are Oscar winners or have been nominated by the Academy. These are people I know well.
I have worked with Al, Helen, Danny is a friend and I know Morgan.
He was looking for something to do with Helen, he had told me.
