Kumamoto Prefecture and Kumamoto City announced on the 8th that it was confirmed that 94 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
This brings the total number of infected people in the prefecture to 13,527.
The prefecture also announced that a man in his 70s in Yatsushiro City had died.
This brings the number of people who died in the prefecture to 131.
