[Rural Revitalization] Guizhou Libo Sturgeon "Swim Out to Sea" Popular Overseas Market

On the afternoon of September 7, many villagers in the sturgeon breeding demonstration base in Jiaqiao Village, Xiaoqikong Town, Libo County, Guizhou Province were busy taking the sturgeon out of the pond for weighing and loading, and sending it to Vietnam.

According to Geng Zhiqian, the head of the sturgeon breeding base, the base currently breeds sturgeons such as Siberian sturgeon and Russian sturgeon, all of which are supplied to the Vietnamese market.

The live sturgeon exported this time was 13 tons, which was exported to Vietnam via Guangxi Youyiguan Port.

An order contract for 500 tons of sturgeon has been signed with Vietnam, and it is expected that all delivery will be completed by the end of 2021.

Sturgeon is a cold-water fish, known as "panda in water" and "living fossil in water".

Guizhou, located in the mountainous area of southwest China, is rich in cold water resources and has excellent water quality without pollution, which creates unique growth conditions for sturgeon. In 2020, the output of Guizhou sturgeon will reach 19,100 tons, ranking second in China.
