The search for a new Social Democratic party leader is in full swing and when the former party leader Göran Persson expressed his hope during yesterday's webinar, the statement quickly received attention.

In the clip, Göran Persson describes how he thinks that social democracy lacks a connection to cultural life and art forms as "obvious reference points for a social democratic leadership".

- In a time that is characterized by so many harsh words as pig-like outbursts, low remarks.

We are better than that, we rise, we highlight the examples that refine us as human beings.

I would like to see it presented by a party leader who also reads a beautiful poem, says Göran Persson in the film clip.

"I'm a little moved"

On social media, the reception has been great and many welcome Göran Persson's statement.

One of them is Karin Olsson, deputy editor-in-chief of Expressen.

She believes that the issue of cultural education goes deep into the roots of the labor movement.

- I must say that I am a little moved.

Partly because Göran Persson expresses himself so fantastically, he is so verbal.

He manages to capture so much in a few sentences.

We are not spoiled by politicians who have this rhetorical level.

Then I think that what he says is very true, says Karin Olsson.

According to Olsson, in recent years the Social Democrats have not only distanced themselves from the cultural world, but also shown a clear disinterest in the issue.
