The funeral of Jean-Paul Belmondo, who died on Monday, will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church in Paris, his lawyer, Mr. Michel Godest, announced on Tuesday.

The ceremony will be followed by an intimate cremation.

The Elysée also announced that a national tribute will be paid to the legendary actor on Thursday at the Invalides.

Originally intended for the military, this tribute has been extended to civilians who have marked their time, such as Charles Aznavour in October 2018. For the terms, time, etc., this will be decided by the Elysee protocol , specified Me Godest.

Jean-Paul Belmondo was for decades a headliner that guaranteed success in theaters, after a resounding debut in Breathless in 1960, a legendary New Wave film.

Since his disappearance Monday, tributes have multiplied from personalities around the world, and on television channels.
