The first selection of the Prix Goncourt was unveiled on Tuesday, and has 15 titles, including the novels of Christine Angot, Sorj Chalandon and David Diop.
One of the surprises on this list is the absence of Amélie Nothomb's 30th novel,
Premier sang
(Albin Michel), much appreciated by critics, but some will also have noticed the presence of the books of two media personalities, two authors and columnists: Clara Dupont-Monod, well known to France Inter listeners, for
S'adapter
, and Lilia Hassaine, every evening alongside Yann Barthès in
Quotidien
, for
Soleil amer
.
The prize will be awarded on November 3
Other books that the press has talked about a lot, such as that of Philippe Jaenada on the Lucien Léger affair, or the fiction of Maria Pourchet on adultery, alongside discoveries such as the autobiographical-inspired novel on Elsa's rape. Fottorino.
The Grasset editions place three titles in this selection, Gallimard two, and other publishers only one.
The only first novel on the list is that of François Noudelmann, but the latter has behind him a long work of essayist.
