A series that continues, another that stops ... Algeria has chained a 32nd consecutive game without defeat against Burkina, but its winning streak ends at eight.

The fault with a team of Burkina initially respectful before emboldening to upset the champions of Africa in title.

The Algerians started the match in a good way, mastering the debates and the ball and logically opening the scoring in the 18th minute thanks to Sofiane Feghouli, on a serve from Islam Slimani.

Faced with a shy Stallion team, fearing more to take the water than to jostle their opponent, the formation of the Fennecs spent a quiet first period.

The revolt of the Stallions

But we have to believe that half-time transformed Bryan Dabo and his comrades who came back from the locker room with a determination and a rage that surprised Belmadi's men.

Now without complex, fighting on all the balls, putting heart and physique in the conquest of the ball, the Burkinabè logically equalized just after the hour mark thanks to Abdoul Tapsoba (64th).

The Stallions, who played at "home" in Morocco, could even have won on one last big opportunity from Mouhamed Konaté whose shot went not far from the right post of Raïs M'Bolhi.

It is also true that Algeria could have benefited from a penalty on Mahrez in the 88th minute, but the Fennecs did not do enough to hope to secure the three points of the victory.

For the Stallions, it is a small feat to keep the reigning African champion in check and to remain at the top of group A with Algeria, which is ahead of them only thanks to the goal difference (+8 against +2 ).

On the next day in October, Algeria goes to Niger and Burkina Faso to Djibouti.
