After development work on the bank, work to remove the submerged parts began in June.

In addition to the truck and its load, 600 tonnes of steel and concrete that make up the deck will be cut up underwater and refloated by a specialized team of divers.

"All the sections will be numbered, listed and evacuated on a dedicated site available for the judicial investigation", indicates the departmental council of Haute-Garonne, infrastructure manager who took charge of the entire site. for an estimated amount of 2.5 million euros.

New bridge under study

The work to remove the apron must be completed during the month of October.

The construction of a new 150-meter-long bridge to cross the Tarn is still under study.

“The studies and works of this new bridge will last between 5 and 6 years, for an estimated budget of 10 million euros.

A consultation phase will start this fall, ”indicates the community.
