Pedro Martínez "Pedrés" has died in Madrid at 89 years of age.
Born in Albacete in 1932, he was a figure of lightning-fast bullfighting, already a bullfighter, forming a couple with Jumillano.
The couple of Jumillano and Pedrés worked like a shot in the 50s. On June 8, 1952 he appeared in Madrid hand in hand with Juan Montero, his countryman and also a great rival.
He took the alternative on October 12, 1952
, in Valencia, at the hands of Miguel Báez Litri. That the death of the bull
Gitanillo
de Sánchez Cobaleda
cedes him
. It was confirmed in Madrid on May 12, 1953 at the hands of Juan Posada and in the presence of his inseparable Jumillano.
His bullfighting was based on bareback courage, on a tremendous line that shocked the public with the famous and spectacular
pedresina
.
He retired very soon, after intense campaigns, in 1955. To reappear in 1963 with a more polished line.
He returned to say goodbye to the ring, already definitively, in Hellín, in 1965, with
Paco Camino
and Manuel Benítez El Cordobés.
He created his own livestock based on the
blood of Aldeanueva
, which he grazed on the lands of Salamanca.
He was also a businessman in the squares of Valencia and Albacete, his land, and owner of the Ciudad Rodrigo square.
