On September 6, the "Experiment 6" comprehensive scientific research ship of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences set up anchor from Xinzhou Wharf in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, and began its first voyage.

The maiden voyage will go to the Pearl River Estuary and the northern part of the South China Sea to perform important scientific tasks of multidisciplinary comprehensive observations, and provide enhanced observation support for revealing major scientific issues such as the regulation mechanism of ecological security in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, multi-scale dynamic processes of vortices, and environmental effects. .
