A fire broke out in a house in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo on the early morning of the 6th, killing an 85-year-old man living in this house.

Around 2:30 am on the 6th, a nearby resident reported to the fire department that a two-story wooden house in Takashimadaira, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo was on fire.



The fire was extinguished after about an hour and a half, but about 50 square meters of the second floor of the house was burned.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, a man was found dead in the fire and was identified as Yoshiyuki Kondo (85), who lives in this house.



Also, in this house, Mr. Kondo and his wife in their 80s lived, and when the fire broke out, Mr. Kondo was sleeping on the 2nd floor and his wife was sleeping on the 1st floor, and his wife was not injured.



The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
