When the music sounded, I poured a handful of fine sand on the light-transmitting glass, sometimes grabbing the sand and throwing it with my hands, sometimes drawing with a single finger. In the black and white shadow changes, I outlined a vivid, natural and beautiful picture.

On September 4, Sun Qijuan, a hearing impaired female sand painter born in Jinan, Shandong Province, stood in front of the sand painting stage and conceived a group of new works.

She has been creating sand paintings in this one-meter-square "creation room" for 10 consecutive years.

Sun Qijuan transformed her balcony into a "creative room".

On that day, as usual, she closed the curtains in the "creation room" and opened the sand painting table for creative practice.

In the “silent” world of Sun Qijuan, no beating notes can be heard. She stares at a software that recognizes sounds on the phone screen to determine whether the music sounds.

Above the sand painting stage, Sun Qijuan set up a video recorder.

"I used a video recorder to shoot records, looked over repeatedly, and searched for deficiencies. I made repeated revisions in the screening of sand, manuscript creation, arm swinging posture, and so on."

In his spare time, Sun Qijuan can paint snuff bottles.

When she was 8 months old, a high fever caused Sun Qijuan to become deaf.

"Mom knows that hearing-impaired children are very bitter. She did everything possible to prevent me from becoming a useless person, teach me how to speak, and prevent me from being playful." Sun Qijuan told reporters by typing on her mobile phone. In the nest of people at home, one painting is a whole day.

In 2009, by chance, she came into contact with sand painting performances.

Sand painting has many variations and strong performance, which instantly attracted her.

"Sand painting is different from painting. It makes me feel like I have walked into a whole new world, and it also makes me feel the charm of art."

"Sand paintings express the artist's personal emotions and understanding through composition, light and shade, and modeling." Sun Qijuan told reporters that the style of her sand paintings focuses on freehand brushwork, requiring circumflex and frustration in technical expression, and more emphasis on smooth lines.

"The natural and innovative connection between the picture frame and the picture frame is the most difficult part of sand painting." Sun Qijuan said that before a group of works are performed on stage, she needs to do a lot of preparation work, and the creation of manuscripts is the foundation.

Sun Qijuan is the new pride of mother Ma.

In Ma Xinxin's eyes, her daughter is a very hard-working, hard-working, and practical child with a pair of skillful hands. Paper-cutting, clay sculpture, Chinese painting, snuff bottles, etc. have all become a way for her to express her emotions in her heart.

Ma Xinxin painted a traditional Chinese painting of peony when his daughter was 10 years old and hung it on the wall of the living room.

"From the age of 3, I liked staying at home to write, write, and paint. Later, I asked her to learn how to make dumplings and make noodles.

"The sand painting performance needs to be accompanied by background music. When my daughter first came to the stage and couldn't hear the music, I would stand under the stage and give her a hand sign." Ma Xinxin told reporters that in the past 10 years, she followed her daughter to the whole country Go to performances everywhere.

"We have a suitcase, which contains the props for my daughter's sand painting performance. No matter where you go, and no matter the time, you can leave with your suitcase."

Ma Xinxin said that before Sun Qijuan had no contact with the sand painting industry, she had worked in catering, clothing and other related jobs. Her daughter took every job seriously and tried her best to achieve perfection.

"No matter what she does, she must pass the hurdle in her heart." Ma Xinxin occasionally "complains" that her daughter doesn't like to go out and make friends. Every time she is alone at home, she tries to figure out and practice sand painting performances over and over again. .

After completing a sand painting work, Sun Qijuan will copy the recorded video to the computer, communicate with her mother, and then modify it.

"My daughter once told me that her life is so miserable. Why should she not hear the voice? It's too unfair." Ma Xinxin said. She remembers very clearly that when her daughter was young, she was wronged outside. He cried to her after running back home.

"Now that my daughter is gaining more and more recognition and liking for her sand painting performance, I am proud of her."

After the operation, she did not receive professional and systematic language training rehabilitation, but she learned pronunciation and speaking from her mother since she was a child. Now she can use the electronic cochlea to communicate with familiar people in simple language.
