After the explosion of a house in Rohrbach in the Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, the police identified the body found in the ruins.

The police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North announced on Saturday that it was “beyond any doubt” the 54-year-old wife who had lived in the property.

The 54-year-old and her husband had been missing since the explosion on Thursday afternoon.

After the explosion, a person in the family's car drove head-on into a truck about 30 kilometers away and was burned in the process.

On Saturday, however, it was initially still unclear whether the victim was the missing 55-year-old husband.

Both bodies were autopsied on Friday evening, the police said.

“Due to the severe burns”, however, it could only be determined that the second body was a man, as it was said.

The semi-detached house was destroyed by an explosion on Thursday afternoon, and the other half of the house was also badly damaged;

There were two injured in this part of the building.

In the meantime, the family dog was found dead in the ruined house.

The investigation into the case continued over the weekend.
