To celebrate an authentic Emirati heritage, the activities of the eighth edition of


the Al-Maleh and Fishing Festival, organized by the municipality of Dibba Al-Hisn and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry

, will start next Wednesday and will

last for four days.


Festival activities include a large number of recreational, heritage, awareness and cultural activities that celebrate the ancient salt industry, with the participation of government departments in Sharjah, and highlight the marine heritage of the Emirati people.


The festival also offers many types of salty, in addition to presenting artistic performances and heritage songs, with the participation of a number of popular troupes in the region.


The Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, said: “We are proud of the cooperation and strategic partnership between us and the municipality of Dibba Al-Hisn, and the organization of the festival comes as part of this relationship, and in our keenness to activate the economic, commercial and tourism movement in the eastern region, and to celebrate the series of professions and industries The ancient navy that has been practiced by the people of the Emirates for generations.


Al-Awadi added that the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been keen to organize the festival, for years, out of its keenness to highlight the popular heritage of the United Arab Emirates as part of its social responsibility, and in support of the food industries in the emirate, as the salty industry is one of the most important and oldest traditional industries in the region It has permanently contributed to achieving food security for the Emirati people. For his part, the Director of Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality, Talib Abdullah Al Yahyai, ​​affirmed the municipality’s keenness to organize the festival with the “Sharjah Chamber” each year with the aim of celebrating one of the most important ancient professions practiced by the people of the Emirates, father and grandfather, over hundreds of years, as well as to preserve an important aspect. It is a folklore of the country, as the festival is one of the most important events specialized in the salt industry in the Arabian Gulf region.


The festival management announced that the event will open its doors to visitors, taking into account all the health and precautionary measures in force in the UAE.
