• After three editions without real flavor due to the Covid-19, the feria is back in color, in Nîmes, for the Harvest edition, from September 15 to 19.

  • However, sanitary measures are in place: the sanitary pass will be required for festive events, and no standing customers will be served.

  • Two large concerts, limited to 2,400 people, are also planned.

Thursday, the city of Nîmes dispelled (a little) the fears of revelers: yes, we will be able to get involved, in the capital of Gard, from September 15 to 19, for the Harvest Fair. Because if we knew that there would be bullfights in the arenas, there was still uncertainty, faced with the Covid-19 epidemic, about the festive events.

The town promises for these five days a "vast program of entertainment".

However, a sanitary pass will be required from all party-goers, "for all events as well as in restaurants, bars and bodegas", and the wearing of a mask will remain compulsory everywhere, indicate the city's services.

On the program, in particular, two concerts (limited to 2,400 people) on the esplanade: a special 1980s concert, on September 17 at 10 p.m., with some stars of the decade (Lio, Julie Pietri, Jean-Luc Lahaye ...) and a DJ scene on September 18 at 10 p.m.

No standing service

As for bars, cafes and restaurants, however, it will not be a fair like the others. They will be allowed to open until 1 a.m. on Thursday and Sunday, 3 a.m. on Friday and 2 a.m. on Saturday. The consumption of alcohol while standing will remain prohibited. Only seated customers with a sanitary pass can be served. Bodegas, provided they are closed, are authorized, provided that their installation is validated by a safety commission. Finally, the distribution of amplified music will only be authorized in bodegas, not in the public domain.

In 2020, the Covid-19 had broken the atmosphere at the Feria des Vendanges: the event had taken place, but with particularly strict measures.

Restaurants, cafes, and bars had to lower their iron curtains at 1 a.m., and alcohol was prohibited on public roads.

Bodegas, street counters and barnums were also prohibited.

And only "a background musical background" had been authorized by the prefecture.

As for the Pentecost feria, it had been canceled in 2020. And last spring, only a bullfighting meeting had been maintained.
