A 59-year-old police officer of the Metropolitan Police Department filed a lie application pretending to be a sole proprietor and was filed on suspicion of fraud for defrauding the country's "sustainability benefit" of 1 million yen.

"I wanted to add to the expense of having an affair with an affair," he said.

The documents were sent to a 59-year-old police officer and his wife in their 60s, who belong to the traffic department of the Tachikawa Police Department of the Metropolitan Police Department.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, from November to December last year, the police officer pretended that his wife, who actually works part-time, was a housekeeper of a sole proprietor, and applied for a lie that his income was significantly reduced due to the effects of the new coronavirus. There is a suspicion of fraud for deceiving the national "sustainable benefit" of 1 million yen.

The benefits received were divided into 500,000 yen each for the couple and then used as gifts for women who had an affair.

After admitting that he had been deceived by any questioning, he said, "I was told by an affair partner that I could get a benefit because my wife is doing a part. I want to add to my entertainment expenses. It means that he is talking.

The Metropolitan Police Department also sent documents to acquaintances who had filed with a woman who had an affair on suspicion of fraud, and dismissed the police officer from disciplinary action on the 3rd.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, it is the first time in the country that police officers have been arrested for defrauding sustainability benefits.
