[Explanation] September 3 is the anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.

On the same day, Mr. Gao Wenbin, the last person who witnessed the entire Tokyo trial in China, was buried in Shanghai Fushou Garden on the first anniversary of his death, resting peacefully on the side of the Tokyo Trial Monument.

  The Tokyo Trial Monument is the first large-scale memorial statue created in China with the famous "Tokyo Trial" as the background. The top is inlaid with bronze busts of Prosecutor Xiang Zhejun and Judge Mei Ruao, as well as seventeen people who participated in the Tokyo Trial. The name of the Chinese jurist.

  In the flowerbed on the side of the Tokyo Trial Monument, a small stone tablet, a color photo of Gao Wenbin and a few words on it are quietly placed, inscribed with the life-long contributions of this famous jurist and condensed him. Nearly a hundred years of life.

  Gao Wenbin, born in Shanghai in December 1922, studied at Soochow University Law School as a young man. He was recommended as a translator of the International Prosecutors Office because he was familiar with British and American law and proficient in English.

From 1946 to 1948, Gao Wenbin participated in the Tokyo Trial (Far East International Trial). As the secretary and translator of Chinese prosecutor Xiang Zhejun, he cooperated with the Chinese prosecution team in prosecution, evidence, debate, court trial and sentencing, and uncovered Japan." The chief culprit of "a hundred people beheaded" has made important contributions to safeguarding the dignity of the country and the nation.

  Gao Lao’s daughter Gao Lan told reporters that in his later years, his father worked tirelessly to promote and introduce the Tokyo trial, just to let more people know and understand the past.

  Because many people don't know that there is such a history, he feels that this is his obligatory duty to let him speak out, because he is the "living history" of the Tokyo Trial.

  [Explanation] Xiang Longwan, the honorary director of the Tokyo Trial Research Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the son of the Chinese prosecutor of the Tokyo Trial, Xiang Zhejun, also recalled the patriotic enthusiasm of the senior to reporters in the interview.

  In the past 10 years, Mr. Gao has participated in every major event of ours, including several international conferences, including the most recent visit to the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre. On September 3, 2019, at the age of 97, he also gave a speech.

  [Explanation] At the memorial meeting, Gao Lan donated the cameras used by Gao to the Shanghai Fushouyuan Humanities Memorial Hall.

According to reports, Mr. Gao loves photography. He used this camera to take a photo of the famous Tokyo Judgment Ten Judges when he was in Tokyo.

We are really willing to donate all these things so that our next generation can see the older generation of intellectuals and how they use their own behavior to show them. This kind of patriotism allows this kind of spirit to be passed on from generation to generation.
