In the Haut-Rhin, the winegrowers of Gueberschwihr are mobilized for their church.

They decided to create a special cuvée, part of the sales of which was donated to the Heritage Foundation.

This cuvée bears the name of Saint-Pantaléon, as the place of worship.

The building, in Romanesque style, is particularly known for its bell tower, reports France 3 Grand Est.

And the latter is in dire need of restoration and consolidation work.

Launched in 2019, the cuvée yielded 6,400 euros.

One euro was donated to the Heritage Foundation for each bottle sold.

Due to the health crisis, the delivery of the check was somewhat delayed.

305,000 euros of works

But it finally took place on August 30, in front of the church, in the presence of the mayor and Pierre Wick, the Haut-Rhin delegate of the Heritage Foundation.

This sum comes in addition to a fundraising launched in October 2018, which raised 39,000 euros.

This remains open as long as the objective of 50,000 euros is not reached.

In addition to this money, the municipality can count on financial aid from the State, in particular via the DRAC (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs), the Grand Est region and the CEA (European Community of Alsace).

In total, the cost of the work is estimated at 305,000 euros.
