If you live near Tarbes, and more generally in Occitania, and you are given 20 or 50 euro banknotes, handle them well or examine them carefully.

The departmental directorate of Public Security of the Hautes-Pyrénées indeed gives the alert, via its Facebook page, on the circulation of counterfeit banknotes.

The Tarbes police station intercepted some of them no later than Tuesday.

But the police say they are currently in circulation in the region.

They are either "crude" photocopies or "movie money", those famous fake tickets used in the cinema.

Easy to identify, therefore, but also easy to be dismissed in a moment of distraction.
