“The Islamic State has been geographically defeated, but now the most important task is to get rid of what remains of the jihadists and sleeper cells”

The Islamic State organization was defeated in Syria, by the latest strikes of the international coalition in 2019. For 5 years, the jihadists reigned over part of Syria, establishing the capital of their caliphate in Raqqa.

Years of horror for the people of the city.

It is gradually recovering, but an economic crisis is hitting the population hard, reconstruction is delayed and some fear a return of the jihadists
