For not having scrupulously applied the measure of the sanitary pass, the owner of a bar in Toulon (Var) is obliged to close the doors of his establishment for seven days, reveals

Var-Matin on

Tuesday.

In recent days, the city had organized regular checks in all establishments where the health pass must be applied.

This bar, located in the Pont-Neuf district, had received a formal notice from the courts during a first check on August 21.

Five days later, during a second inspection carried out by the police, the manager was sanctioned.

The first sanction in France

In addition to having to close shop for a week, the manager was fined up to 1,500 euros.

These sanctions are the first carried out in France since the introduction of the health pass in bars and restaurants about three weeks ago.

If during a third check, the manager still does not scrupulously apply the health pass in his establishment within 45 days of these first violations, he would expose himself to more serious legal proceedings.

The sanction, this time, could amount to nearly 9,000 euros in fine and one year of imprisonment.
