The reporter learned from Peking University that in 2021, Peking University admitted a total of 4,402 undergraduate freshmen, of which the school’s headquarters admitted 3,003 undergraduate freshmen. Among them, 442 were rural household registration students, accounting for 15.1% of the number of inland students, the highest in recent years.
Affected by the epidemic, this year's undergraduate freshmen at Peking University were organized by the school to conduct a 14-day health monitoring before registration, and on the day of registration, they received a nucleic acid test outside the Qiu Deba Gymnasium.
The reporter learned at the scene that as of 9:46 in the morning, more than 45% of the undergraduate freshmen in the department had completed the registration procedures.
It is reported that Peking University’s orientation work was postponed to September 1 due to epidemic prevention requirements.
In addition, the headquarters of Peking University also admitted 388 international students from 40 countries and regions overseas this year.
The Department of Medicine has admitted a total of 865 undergraduate freshmen (including 15 students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), and admitted 45 international students from 11 countries and regions.
