The city's board of education announced that an elementary school teacher in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, had been giving lessons without reporting to the school after being confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.

He told the school that he went to work at his own discretion because he was feeling better.

According to the Amagasaki City Board of Education, a teacher working at a municipal elementary school had a fever and visited a medical institution on the 25th of last month, and an examination confirmed that he was infected with the new coronavirus.

However, he did not report the infection to the school, and went to work on the 30th when the opening ceremony was held, and taught 33 children in the class he was in charge of until after noon.

Inquiries were received from the health center that evening, and the school was the first to detect the teacher's infection.

In response to the school interview, the teacher said, "I went to work at my own discretion because my physical condition improved."

The school disinfected the classrooms and was temporarily closed until the 3rd.

The teacher wears a mask and there are no close contacts in the school, but about 40 people, including children and teachers, undergo PCR tests.

Koichiro Umeyama, Deputy Director of Education of the Amagasaki City Board of Education, said at a press conference, "We have notified you of what to do if you are infected with the new corona, but it is a problematic act that violates it. We will take strict measures after confirming the facts." Said.
