It was the party too many, as Eddy de Pretto sings.

In Combrit, in South Finistère, dunes were damaged during an end-of-season party in which several lifeguards participated, reports

Ouest-France

.

The incident took place at the foot of the first aid station on Trestel beach, a sensitive and protected natural area in this town located between Loctudy and Bénodet.

According to the Breton daily, around fifty people took part in the night fiesta organized on August 26.

The next morning, the first walkers discovered that the barriers installed to protect the dunes and limit their erosion had been damaged.

The ganivelles were torn over several tens of meters to feed the fire lit on the beach.

Hired for the season by the community to supervise the swimming, the lifeguards who would have participated in this evening knew the place perfectly, having practiced there all summer.

The mayor of the commune of Combrit, who refused to speak, lodged a complaint with the gendarmerie.

According to

Ouest-France

, these degradations have created a real discomfort in this very touristy territory of the Bigouden country.
