After 17 years of implementation, Beijing removed the threshold of "350-meter spacing" for pharmacies

Beijing, September 1 (Reporter Yang Zhaokui) This morning, the relevant person in charge of Gaoyuan Baikang Pharmacy Co., Ltd., Haidian District, Beijing, obtained a drug business license for a new store of the company from the staff of the Haidian District Market Supervision Bureau.

It is reported that the pharmacy became the first pharmaceutical retail company opened in Haidian District after Beijing canceled the 350-meter distance restriction between pharmaceutical retail companies.

"The removal of the threshold of '350-meter spacing' provides more options for our branch location selection. In addition, this time from application, approval to the final passing of the inspection certificate, the time is greatly shortened, the efficiency is improved, and the cost is greatly reduced. "The relevant person in charge of Gaoyuan Baikang Pharmacy Co., Ltd. said.

Pharmacies have been open for a long time.

In the past, in order to prevent pharmacies from clustering together and to balance medical resources, many places, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin, have put forward requirements on the spacing of pharmacies.

As early as 2004, Beijing required that new pharmaceutical retail companies should have a feasible distance of more than 350 meters from existing pharmaceutical retail companies.

However, some citizens questioned why pharmacies can't compete next to each other if there is a street for snacks?

The requirement of 350 meters apart makes pharmacies more scattered, which may prevent consumers from shopping around.

The person in charge of the operation department of a large chain pharmacy in Beijing once said that when choosing a location for a pharmacy, he sometimes encountered such a situation: when the ruler was pulled to 330 meters, he found a small single pharmacy, only 20 meters away, and had to give up ...

In order to further deepen the reform of "delegating control and service" in the field of drug distribution, starting today, the Beijing Municipal Drug Administration has adjusted the approval of the city's drug retail business licenses as follows: First, cancel the distance restriction requirements between newly established drug retail companies; second, Cancel the approval for the establishment of pharmaceutical retail enterprises; third, adjust the area of pharmaceutical retail enterprises' business premises (including warehouses); fourth, adjust the establishment and change approval of pharmaceutical retail chain enterprises; fifth, implement notification of the approval of the application for the establishment of pharmaceutical retail enterprises that only deal in Type B over-the-counter drugs Commitment system, etc.

It is worth mentioning that the reform of the approval of drug business licenses canceled the approval for the establishment of a drug business enterprise. The original two approval procedures of "preparation first" and "after acceptance" were merged into a single "new establishment" process.

Li Jin, Section Chief of the Pharmaceutical and Device Circulation Section of the Market Supervision Bureau of Beijing Haidian District, said: “After receiving the latest notice, our bureau immediately studied how the approval reform of pharmaceutical retail enterprises can be implemented in Haidian, timely adjust the licensing process, and standardize the access review. Optimize the business environment, actively connect with applicant companies, do a good job of pre-service, and guide the healthy and orderly development of the pharmaceutical retail industry."

Experts in the industry pointed out that the removal of the restriction on the distance between pharmacies can allow pharmacies to compete fully and realize the survival of the fittest, which is conducive to optimizing the business environment and promoting the better development of high-quality enterprises.

For consumers, opening a pharmacy "zero distance" can further enhance the convenience of purchasing drugs.
