In the Loiret, back to school rhymes with new things!

The departmental council presented, Monday, the changes to come in the colleges.

Two new establishments will thus be opened in Pithiviers and Dadonville.

These come to replace the Denis-Poisson college in Pithiviers, considered too dilapidated and too small, reports France Bleu Orléans.

“The delivery was long, we even talked about Arlésienne at one point.

But this time, we have our two colleges and it's a real relief ”assured Marc Gaudet, president of the departmental council.

In total, 37 million euros were needed for the construction of these two buildings, which will accommodate 600 students each.

Six new ULIS classes

In total, the 58 colleges of the department will take care of 31,600 students, says

La République du Center

.

For the other establishments, renovations were undertaken in 39 of them.

"In 2021, we are spending 80 million euros in colleges, in operating and investment budgets" added the president of the department.

Another initiative for the start of the school year: the creation of six new ULIS classes, localized units for inclusive education.

Two are born at the new college in Dadonville.

The others are shared between the Jean-Mermoz colleges in Gien, the Jargeau, Malesherbois, Trainou and Saint-Exupéry colleges in Saint-Jean-de-Braye.

In total, 55 ULIS classes exist in the Loiret and welcome 630 students.
