The most majestic eagle in the world... is in danger

Scientists warn of the extinction of 30% of raptors

Research published by the National Academy of Sciences in the United States states that some of the world's most majestic vultures and the fastest hawks in the world may soon become extinct.

As many as 30% of the 557 species of raptors on the planet are "in danger of extinction", said researchers from Mexico's National Autonomous University, which is home to more than 90% of the different species of this bird of prey, the fourth highest after Indonesia, Colombia and Ecuador.

According to the research team, the past three decades have witnessed a sharp decline in the numbers of many species due to “the loss of bird habitats, fragmentation, pollution, conflicts between humans and wildlife and global climate changes.”

Among the most endangered raptors are the Philippine eagle, the largest in the world, and several other species of raptors whose numbers have declined by more than 90% in parts of Asia, despite their role as excavators that dispose of dangerous dead animals.

The results of the research indicate an urgent need to strengthen protected areas or create new ones” in China, India, Mongolia, Nepal and Russia;

If I want the endangered raptors not to disappear forever.
