All major nature outings planned in Vaucluse this fall have been canceled.

The departmental hiking federation has in fact decided to postpone its next events so as not to force volunteers to check the health passes of the participants, reports France Bleu Vaucluse on Monday.

Thus, the 46 member associations of the federation preferred to preserve its members.

“It's so difficult to recruit volunteers that we have to protect them.

The majority of our volunteers are between 60 and 70 years old: we are not going to put them on the front line to check these mandatory documents, ”said Bernard Fatato, president of the federation.

Up to 9,000 euros fine

This last point of the responsibility which weighs on the shoulders of the volunteers within the framework of the sanitary pass.

"You must also be equipped with software, have registers to register people and if you do it badly, you have a fine of up to 9,000 euros," he told our colleagues.

In addition, in the event of an error, the association president is considered criminally responsible.

Enough to cool the ardor of walkers.

According to France Bleu, around 3,000 people are currently members of a hiking structure in Vaucluse.

If the major meetings are suspended in the coming weeks, each association can still continue its activities.
