A high school student in Tokushima City, in cooperation with Kamikatsu Town, Tokushima Prefecture, which is engaged in "Zero Waste" activities to eliminate garbage and waste, has developed an original confectionery wrapped in a package that can be reused as an accessory case or a furoshiki.

Students from the Tokushima Commercial High School Business Research Department in Tokushima City worked with Kamikatsu Town and companies to develop the product, design the package, and package the confectionery.

The confectionery is based on "Awa Uiro" and uses the juice of Tokushima's specialty citrus "Yuko", which is characterized by its mellow acidity and sweetness.

The outer box is made of thinned wood from Kamikatsu Town, and the inside is wrapped in a cloth made from fibers made from discarded PET bottles.

Since each can be used as an accessory case or a furoshiki, it is said that the package does not generate any garbage.

Makoto Awata of the Tokushima Commercial High School Business Research Department, who was involved in the development, said, "The refreshing taste of Yukou and the sweet taste of Awa Uiro make it easy to eat. The boxes and packaging are sustainable, so it's easy to eat. I want various people to buy it. "
