Thinking that you are already dead (Cotard Syndrome), believing that your loved ones have been replaced by look-alikes (Capgras Syndrome), speaking your mother tongue with a foreign accent (Foreign accent syndrome) ... Rare psychiatric illnesses result in particular by identification disorders, mental disorders linked to brain damage or strong emotional reactions, after a traumatic experience.

In addition, some rare diseases can lead to psychiatric illnesses.
Thus, 2 to 3% of patients suffering from schizophrenia are carriers of a genetic abnormality.
